Inspired by the 'PBH Free Fringe' that has revolutionised the famous Edinburgh Fringe, freecomedy.com.au has been feature of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival since 2012.
Free Comedy Australia moved to the Highlander Bar in Melbourne in 2018.

Free Comedy Australia presented a Rebel Festival alongside the MICF in 2021.
Over 70 acts performed over two weeks at Highlander Bar.
Highlights included #YesAllWomen Comedy, The Aristocrats Joke Competition, Breakfast Radio Active, The Late Show & the SA v VIC Showdown
